We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Architect to take on a leadership role within our clients data team. As the technical lead for the data warehouse platform, you will be responsible for guiding the development of data architecture, models, and integration strategies that align with business objectives. This is a critical role that involves providing thought leadership, technical direction, and governance across multiple data delivery initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of data architecture, ensuring alignment with best practices and business goals.
• Provide technical leadership through design reviews, implementation guidance, and technical workshops.
• Oversee and refine the data delivery framework, enhancing integration, performance, and development processes.
• Set and enforce standards for peer reviews, data modeling, and release management.
• Collaborate with key business units to develop and implement reports and analytics that address risks and emerging trends.
• Facilitate continuous improvement in delivery principles, coding standards, and documentation practices.
• Prioritize and manage work items, ensuring timely and efficient project delivery.
• Provide expertise in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling, with strong proficiency in tools like Erwin.
• Own the end-to-end technical implementation of new data sources, from analysis to delivery.
• Conduct knowledge transfer sessions on best practices in development, data modeling, and release processes.

Essential Criteria:

• Strong expertise in Data Architecture, including enterprise-scale conformed models and designing for analytical use.
• Demonstrated competency in Data Architecture within an AWS cloud environment, including S3 and contemporary cloud warehouse products.
• Proven experience in technical leadership for cloud-based Data Lake and Data Warehouse platforms, including ETL and data governance.
• Extensive experience in data modeling, with the ability to guide and review work by engineers and modelers.
• Familiarity with DevOps processes and version control systems.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in SQL and contemporary analytics languages (e.g., Python, R).

Desirable Criteria:

• Tertiary qualifications in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or a related field, or more than 8 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in reverse engineering SQL code and interpreting data models and specifications.
• Knowledge of metadata/model-driven frameworks.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
