About the Role:
As a Cyber Security Specialist, you will play a vital role in safeguarding key electoral systems and ICT environments. You'll analyze cyber threats, respond to incidents, and implement measures to counter attacks, working collaboratively with internal teams to maintain system resilience and security.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Collect and analyze cyber security data to identify and mitigate threats against ICT and electoral systems.
2. Implement required actions to counter cyberattacks and restore operations.
3. Collaborate with ICT teams and business areas to communicate limitations and produce detailed reports.
4. Conduct cyber threat hunting and provide actionable threat intelligence to the team.
5. Participate in mentoring and training to support professional growth.
6. Develop and refine standard operating procedures for incident response.

Technical Skills Required:
Mandatory:

• Proficiency with Sentinel or similar SIEM solutions.
• Familiarity with the Australian Government Information Security Manual.
• Knowledge of best practice cyber security monitoring processes.
• Experience in cyber incident response.

Desirable:

• Cyber security monitoring experience within or for federal government entities.
