Our client is searching for a Data Technical Specialist with a strong background in data profiling, lineage, and classification, combined with excellent technical problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will be responsible for in-depth data analysis, mapping, and governance, collaborating closely with stakeholders to support their data initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
As a Data Technical Specialist, you will:
- Analyze and Gather Requirements: Work closely with business stakeholders to capture requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Data Mapping and Transformation: Develop and implement mappings between source and target systems, ensuring smooth and accurate data flow.
- Data Profiling and Lineage: Conduct in-depth profiling and lineage tracking to maintain robust data governance and integrity.
- Support Data Modeling: Collaborate with data modelers to develop logical and physical data models, leveraging your expertise in modeling concepts.
- Ensure Data Quality: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data quality issues, providing detailed root cause analysis.
- Governance Oversight: Actively contribute to data governance processes, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and compliance requirements.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Facilitate discussions, workshops, and meetings to align on business needs and priorities.
Essential Skills and Experience
Our client is looking for a candidate with:
- Strong expertise in Data Profiling, Data Lineage, Data Mapping, and Data Classification.
- Proven experience preparing Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) and mapping documents.
- A solid understanding of Data Transformation logic in a Data Lake environment.
- Knowledge of data modeling concepts, such as SCD Type 1 & 2 tables and various database models.
- Familiarity with data governance processes.
Desired Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following skills will set you apart:
- Basic knowledge of Big Data technologies, including Hive and the Hadoop Ecosystem.
- Prior experience in the banking domain is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
