About the Team

The Investigations Management System(IMS) project team is responsible for the implementation and delivery of SAS IMS to replace our current CMS. This system will be utilised by our fraud intelligence and investigations teams to maintain information on fraud threat and workflows that support operations.
The IMS project team sits within the Fraud Fusion Taskforce Intelligence Analytics Branch which leads the gathering and analysis of integrity information for the purpose of providing intelligence to Agency management and recommending solutions to reduce the risk of fraud and serious non-compliance to the NDIS. This includes strategic, operational and tactical intelligence, strategic projects, detection analytics, and fraud tip-offs.

About the Role

The EL1 Test Manager is accountable under broad direction to undertake very complex work that delivers quality outcomes and facilitates the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) across the NDIA.
The position will have delegated authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across wideranging activities of substantial depth involving significant detail. The role requires providing leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making.
The EL1 Test Manager is responsible for actively managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships and where required will represent and negotiate on behalf of the NDIA to advance the NDIA's interests across a range of forums.
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Leading testing of SAS Investigation Management System development and implementation including planning, preparing and delivering user acceptance testing (UAT) and business verification testing (BVT) for product releases.
  • Undertaking quality management and testing assurance activities through the preparation and review of test strategies, plans, accessible test scripts in Easy English, coverage matrices and sign off reports.
  • Managing and supporting fraud teams to undertake UAT and BVT.
  • Working with IT team to ensure environment and test cases are available for testing.
  • Managing and tracking all testing activities and escalating defects.
  • Estimating effort and time requirements for testing activities.
  • Managing the resources of testers to support the various testing phases as required.

Essential Criteria (Maximum 6)

  • Proven experience of functional and / or user acceptance testing with strong base test skills and experience of working through a number of full lifecycle projects.
  • Familiarity with defect investigation and isolation and the importance of reliable means of defect reproduction.
  • Able to demonstrate awareness of the importance of test process collateral (scripts and other deliverables) and the requirement for testing to feedback information to management.
  • Able to demonstrate a strong grasp of the test lifecycle within the development lifecycle.
  • Good problem solving skills and the tenacity to stay with an issue until it is resolved.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of SAS products, specifically SAS IMS

  • Organisational Responsibilities

    The role is required to be performed in a work environment that has the following core characteristics and requirements:
    • Working in an open office environment (exposure to general workplace chatter)
    • Working from home on occasion
    • Working in a hot desk environment
    • Significant periods of sitting at a counter or desk
    • Operating a telephone
    • Computer/screen-based work
    • Ability to use computer/software applications including Microsoft Office and NDIA business systems
