The Data Engineer will be responsible for managing and extracting data from the Identity Management System. This role requires expertise in handling large and complex datasets, designing and implementing data pipelines, and creating data models to support business requirements. Proficiency in technologies such as Power BI and Apache Directory Studio is essential for this position, along with a strong background in database administration and data warehousing.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Extract large and complex datasets from the Identity Management System.
  • Design and implement scalable data pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop efficient data models.
  • Develop and maintain data integration solutions using tools like Apache Directory Studio.
  • Monitor data quality and ensure data integrity across systems.
  • Administer and optimize databases and data warehouses to support reporting and analytics needs.
  • Serve as a technical expert on data engineering best practices and provide mentorship to team members.
  • Create and maintain documentation for data processes and systems.


Primary Technologies:

  • Power BI: Proficiency in creating dashboards, reports, and data visualizations.
  • Apache Directory Studio: Experience in managing and querying directory data.
  • SQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and data warehousing concepts.
  • ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tools and techniques.


Weighted Criteria:

  • Sound technical knowledge and experience with Power BI.
  • The ability to build and maintain complex Power BI reports based on large datasets.
  • Knowledge and experience with Identity Management Systems and methodology.
  • Knowledge and experience with Apache Directory Studio or similar.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer, Data Analyst, or similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and database design principles.
  • Experience with data modeling and schema design for relational and non-relational databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement ETL processes to handle large volumes of data.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their data services.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables in a dynamic environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate).
  • Experience with identity management systems and related technologies.
  • Knowledge of big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with data governance and compliance standards.
