About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Solution Architect to join the Corporate Systems Branch (CSB) within the Department of Health and Aged Care. This role is pivotal in supporting the department's legacy systems and driving its modernisation agenda.
You will lead the discovery, analysis, assessment, and design of modern technology solutions that align with the department's strategies, architectural principles, and security frameworks. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the department's digital transformation and make a meaningful impact on service delivery and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
As a Solution Architect, your responsibilities will include:
- Designing Cloud Architecture: Create scalable, secure, and cost-efficient architectures for migrating applications to Microsoft Azure.
- Delivering Architectural Artefacts: Develop designs, patterns, and associated documentation to support departmental systems.
- Defining Non-Functional Requirements: Specify security, performance, capacity, and other cross-functional considerations.
- Developing Complex Solutions: Address business needs with robust engineering solutions across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with project teams, enterprise architects, business areas, and technical teams to ensure robust solutions.
- Supporting DevOps and Infrastructure: Collaborate with DevOps and core infrastructure teams to deliver technical solutions effectively.
- Assessing Change Impacts: Evaluate the impact of system changes to ensure smooth implementation.
- Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as required by the Director.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking candidates who are creative problem-solvers with strong analytical and technical expertise. The ideal candidate will have:
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platform and cloud migration strategies.
- Demonstrated success in delivering application and platform transformation projects.
- A deep understanding of architectural best practices.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and drive project success.
- Experience in balancing technical detail with strategic vision.
