Leading banking client is hiring for Assistant Fraud Investigating officers! Initial 6 months contract! Based in Sydney CBD!
Job details:
- Support the delivery of Financial Crime Investigations, Investigative Reporting processes and procedures in line with local regulatory requirements and internal framework
- Prioritisation and completion of cases in line with a risk-based approach, defined procedures and KPIs in accordance with agreed standard reporting requirements and service levels.
- Facilitate and coordinate training and feedback sessions across onshore and offshore teams to drive the quality of investigative outcomes and skillset of staff.
- Execution of MLRO delegate duties in relation to SMR decisioning in line with internal processes and regulatory obligations.
- Identify and lead opportunities for improvements across processes and procedures to support the delivery of streamlined and efficient outcomes.
- Identify, escalate and support in the remediation of identified control weaknesses in a timely manner.
- Support the Manager, Investigative Reporting in the delivery of global, regional and country strategic initiatives.
- Act as a delegate for the Manager, Investigative Reporting during periods of leave or as required.
- Complete day to day operational activities and Investigations as expected.
- Responsible for writing a high-quality investigative narrative and recording the case history in a digital case file.
- Responsible for ensuring that at the conclusion of each investigation, a comprehensive recommendation is to be made to the AML Investigations Quality Control Reviewer as to whether a Suspicious Matter Report (SMR) should be filed or not.
- Responsible for identifying possible violations of law or regulation (e.g., structuring of transactions, unusual international wire transfer activity through high-risk countries, foreign corruption).
- Responsible for escalating investigations (via the appropriate channel) to relevant internal departments for further consideration.
