Experis is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Architect for a leading government agency to to join its Enterprise Architecture team and drive the transition to a Cloud-First environment. This role will define the organisation's cloud migration strategy, provide technical leadership, and ensure infrastructure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives. Candidates must be based in Canberra and flexible with hybrid working.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a cloud migration roadmap, transitioning from on-premises data centers.
- Define a cloud-based backup and disaster recovery strategy.
- Provide technical oversight on migrating legacy corporate systems to the cloud.
- Maintain and evolve the enterprise infrastructure reference architecture.
- Ensure infrastructure security through architecture artifacts, models, and standards.
- Support procurement activities by preparing IT infrastructure specifications.
- Collaborate with solution and application architects to address infrastructure concerns.
- Guide projects to align with the infrastructure strategy and enterprise goals.
Key Skills & Technologies
- Microsoft Azure (including the Azure Well-Architected Framework)
- Microsoft IaaS/PaaS/SaaS: Azure Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, System Center Suite
- Security Technologies: Microsoft Sentinel, Defender
- Enterprise Backup & Disaster Recovery Solutions
Selection Criteria
✅ Proven experience leading organisational cloud migrations
✅ Strong Microsoft Cloud services expertise
✅ Ability to engage, influence, and shape stakeholder decisions
✅ Excellent communication skills at technical and business levels
✅ Relevant tertiary qualifications or industry certifications
