About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced MQ Specialist to design, develop, and maintain enterprise IBM MQ solutions that support a critical messaging infrastructure, enabling secure and efficient data processing with external agencies.
Experience with Azure Platform One (APO) or other cloud infrastructures will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and Development: Develop and implement IBM MQ solutions tailored to evolving business requirements.

• Infrastructure Uplift: Lead the migration and uplift of existing on-premises infrastructure to cloud environments such as Azure Platform One, ensuring alignment with security requirements and system integration needs.

• Integration: Enable seamless communication between a variety of systems and applications through secure and reliable messaging.

• Maintenance and Support: Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues within the MQ environment, ensuring system performance, security, and high availability.

• Performance Tuning: Continuously optimize the MQ environment for scalability and efficiency.

• Documentation: Produce and maintain technical documentation for system configurations, development processes, and operating procedures.

• Collaboration: Work closely with developers, architects, business analysts, and project managers across the organisation.

• Security: Implement best practices to secure MQ environments against internal and external threats.

Knowledge and Experience:

• Formal qualifications or relevant certifications in IT or related fields.

• Strong experience working with IBM MQ, Azure Platform One (APO), or other cloud platforms.

• Proficiency with messaging protocols, integration patterns, and messaging system best practices.

• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices, processes, and toolsets.

• Beneficial experience with other messaging platforms and cloud migration projects.

Soft Skills:

• Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.

• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Technical Skills:

• Expertise in IBM MQ installation, configuration, and administration.

• Experience with Azure Platform One or similar cloud technologies.

• Knowledge of integration architectures and messaging standards.

• Understanding of Agile/DevOps frameworks and tools.

Eligibility:

• Australian Citizenship is required.

• A Baseline Security Clearance is required.
