Experis are partnering with a federal government client who are looking to recruit a Power BI Specialist for an initial 3 month contract.

PLEASE NOTE YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE BASELINE SECURITY CLEARANCE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE. PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU HAVE THIS IN PLACE.

The key focus of this role is to develop and implement some prototype / pilot reports using Power BI as required. This will include SSRS reports and data being "collated" into a consolidated dashboard.

This is a hands-on role requiring flexibility and understanding during a period of substantial organisational change.

Primary Accountabilities:

Working with multiple streams, with direction and support from the Executive team, Chief Architect, Release Train Engineer and Stream Leads the role will;

• Utilise JIRA and Scrum or Kanban approaches to deliver tasks, changes and products to ensuring delivery of high-quality products and user experience (where possible)
• Work closely with business, technology, and corporate service users to help identify problems and requirements to ensure the right problem is solved (with technology)
• Make and contribute ideas, innovation and suggestions to resolve a list of simple to complex challenges with consideration to short, medium and long term approaches and solutions.
• Work closely with the Architecture, Cyber Security and Support teams to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, reporting requirements, risk management and identify and seek exemptions where required.

Specialist Accountabilities

• Design, develop and optimise an dashboards and reports (Power Query, DAX and Power BI Service)
• Fine tune Power BI solutions for speed and efficiency
• Create clear and concise support and management documentation for reports, dashboards and processes
• Assist, train and advise others on any reports developed and approaches taken etc

The Candidate

You have experience in BI or Reporting Specialist role and preferably;

• Experience working with Government in customer-focused service delivery, managing competing priorities, and delivering in a fast-paced change environment.

• Experience in agile delivery and using JIRA and Service Now or similar.
• Strong ability to work independently and be accountable for outcomes.

Technical Requirements:

• Experience in developing and deploying reporting solutions with Power BI
• Proficiency in DAX, SQL, PowerQuery, RLS and/or Similar
• Experience in UI visual design, design principles and data storytelling
• An ability to create and maintain ETL process to build data pipelines
• Experience with data warehouses, data marts, SQL queries and stored procedures
• Understanding and/or experience in cross-system integration using Power BI, Power Apps and other apps
