About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Tech Lead - SAS to play a crucial role in designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-level data solutions. You'll work closely with Credit Risk stakeholders, solution engineers, and Agile teams, ensuring seamless integration of SAS technologies into the broader cloud and data ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

✅ Partner with business stakeholders, service owners, and solution engineers to prioritize requirements and manage the backlog
✅ Design and develop Credit Risk-related data solutions while ensuring alignment with governance and regulatory standards
✅ Lead the impact analysis, effort estimation, and solution design for new projects
✅ Guide Agile development teams in implementing technical solutions using SAS, SQL, Big Data, and cloud technologies
✅ Provide third-line support, troubleshooting production issues and identifying root causes
✅ Deliver accurate cost estimates and contribute to strategic data architecture decisions
✅ Ensure compliance with Data Mesh Architecture, integration best practices, and security protocols
✅ Collaborate with Azure cloud teams, leveraging technologies like Synapse Analytics, CosmosDB, and API development tools

What We're Looking For

🔹 3+ years experience as a SAS Tech Lead in a similar role
🔹 5+ years of hands-on experience in SAS development & data engineering, including SAS Base, SAS/Macro, SAS DI Studio, SAS Enterprise Guide, SAS Management Console
🔹 Strong SQL skills and experience in Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Hive, HBase, Python)
🔹 Cloud expertise (Azure Synapse, CosmosDB, API Development with Java Spring)
🔹 Knowledge of data integration, warehousing, and modeling tools (Informatica, Sterling, Power BI, Cognos/TM1, Tableau)
🔹 Understanding of Data Mesh Architecture and Domain Data Products concepts
🔹 Prior experience in banking/financial services, especially within Credit Risk
🔹 Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
🔹 Excellent communication skills to engage with business and technical stakeholders

Nice to Have

✨ Familiarity with DevOps/DevSecOps practices
✨ Experience with SAS Viya and SAS 9.4 environments
✨ Understanding of financial services operations & risk management
