The Data and Strategy Governance Branch is seeking two experienced Senior Data Analysts with expertise in data governance, agile project management, and policy analysis. The ideal candidates will possess strong policy interpretation and writing skills. These roles are critical for overseeing the governance of the organisation's data assets, ensuring accuracy, quality, and consistency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Quality & Transformation: Conduct data quality analysis, and curate/transform data in Data Lake/Teradata to meet reporting needs.
  • Data Profiling: Generate data quality profiles using SAS data management tools, Teradata, and Data Lake.
  • Record Matching: Utilize SAS tools such as QKB to identify duplicates and implement data matching scenarios.
  • Data Visualization: Develop reports and visualizations using Power BI and Tableau to support data governance, including the management of data catalogues.

Duties:

  • Evaluate, define, integrate, and organise data from multiple operational systems.
  • Perform administrative and technical tasks within the data environment.
  • Manage data loading, creation, maintenance, and distribution.
  • Resolve data integration issues.
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations for data governance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure timely project delivery.
  • Monitor workloads to achieve business objectives.
  • Assist with processing data, including matching and maintaining object-specific data.
  • Develop data standards and contribute to data governance strategies.
  • Support the execution of data quality programs and contribute to business improvements.
  • Prepare reports, corporate, and technical documentation for senior executive review.
  • Handle issue resolution and escalation, and suggest alternative approaches where necessary.
  • Apply appropriate delegation per legislation and guidelines.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong background in data governance and agile project management.
  • Proficient in SAS data management tools, Teradata, Data Lake, and reporting tools like Power BI and Tableau.
  • Excellent policy interpretation and writing skills.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision, exercise initiative and judgment in policy interpretation, and manage competing priorities.
  • Experience contributing to business planning and process improvement strategies.
  • Previous experience managing or leading staff is a plus.
