About the Role:
As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll work closely with the business to ensure their data assets are managed efficiently, enabling actionable insights. You'll design and maintain critical data pipelines, support ETL processes, and prioritize safety and compliance at every step. Key Responsibilities:
- Data Pipelines: Design and build scalable, reliable, and efficient data pipelines and architectures on the Azure platform.
- Data Modelling: Develop and maintain data models (conceptual, logical, and physical), metadata management, and cataloging processes.
- System Optimization: Conduct diagnostic procedures, implement data optimization methods, and scale data storage solutions.
- Innovation: Research emerging data technologies and recommend trials to enhance operational efficiency.
- Governance: Maintain documentation, procedures, and monitoring systems to ensure data integrity, privacy, and compliance.
- Operational Support: Monitor daily data quality, remediate issues, and provide Level 3 support for incident resolution within agreed SLAs.
Who We're Looking For:
Our client is searching for a self-starter with a strong technical background and the ability to work across diverse challenges.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Strong expertise in Azure Data Warehouse, Azure Data Explorer, and Azure Data Factory.
- Proven experience with modern data pipelines, ETL/ELT strategies, and data modelling.
- Skilled in SQL, SSIS, and KQL, with experience in data science workloads.
- Knowledge of data governance, data security, and compliance standards.
- Certifications: Advanced Azure Data certifications are essential.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving abilities.
Desirable Skills:
- Proficiency in programming languages like Python and/or Scala.
- Familiarity with Azure services such as Synapse, Databricks, and Power BI.
- Consulting experience on Azure platforms.
- Experience with big data technologies and real-time analytics tools.
