About the Role We are seeking experienced Software Engineers to oversee software development projects, write optimised code, and provide technical leadership within a dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of the software produced while solving complex technical challenges.

As a Development Expert, you will contribute to the design, development, testing, support, and maintenance of applications and frameworks throughout the software release lifecycle. You will also provide technical leadership and guidance to a team, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and manage analysis, design, development, prototyping, unit testing, and maintenance activities.

• Solve highly complex problems and deliver high-quality solutions.

• Conduct high-level analysis of technical requirements to support project evaluation.

• Undertake technical design and development of custom and standard conversion/migration solutions.

• Manage release activities and provide go-live production support.

• Act as a subject matter expert, sharing knowledge and mentoring less experienced team members.

• Ensure compliance with endorsed software development methodologies.

• Provide technical leadership and support to development teams.

• Lead and manage team operations, overseeing work priorities and resource management.

• Maintain and support existing systems and technologies to ensure smooth operations.

• Report on business outcomes, key performance indicators, and quality assurance.

• Develop staff capability through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.

• Resolve escalated issues and propose alternative solutions.

• Prepare and review technical and corporate documentation.

• Provide specialist technical advice to senior executives.

• Monitor and manage work output and quality against performance standards.

• Influence and contribute to ICT strategy, resolving conflicts where necessary.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Java technologies.

• Experience with Angular or equivalent scripting frameworks.

• Knowledge of OpenShift & OpenLiberty.
