About the Role
A major ICT capability development project is seeking a skilled Test Engineer (Test 4) to contribute to the design, development, and implementation of complex ICT solutions. This role will focus on designing test cases and scripts, linking them to predetermined criteria, and ensuring rigorous testing processes are followed.

The project is currently in the acquisition phase and aims to deliver an advanced Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Information Environment (ISR IE) to integrate multiple Australian Defence Force (ADF) ISR-related projects. This initiative plays a critical role in Australia's national security and defence landscape.

As part of a specialist Technical Data Team (TDT), you will support solution development and testing efforts to ensure seamless integration of ICT systems, including a gateway capability to connect ADF ISR projects to Defence strategic networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute test cases and scripts, ensuring alignment with predefined criteria.

  • Record and report test outcomes, identifying potential issues and risks.

  • Participate in requirement, design, and specification reviews, using insights to develop comprehensive test plans.

  • Apply agreed standards for manual and automated testing, enhancing test coverage through automation.

  • Collaborate with technical teams across Defence and ASD to ensure effective solution development.

  • Perform additional tasks as required by the Technical Team.

Skills and Experience
Essential:

  • Ability to work effectively in a complex, fast-paced environment.

Desirable:

  • Experience with or knowledge of Australian Government information security policies, including the ASD Information Security Manual and Essential Eight.

Other Requirements

  • Willingness to undergo the ASD Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) within 12 months of engagement.

  • Must hold a minimum NV1 security clearance and be willing to apply for an upgrade to a PV security clearance within the first 12 months.

  • This is a Canberra-based role requiring full-time, on-site work (up to 40 hours per week unless otherwise agreed).

Security Clearance & Assessment Information

Once successful, an Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) will be conducted as part of their onboarding. This role will require you to obtain a TSPV security-clearance but our client is only seeking NV1 cleared personnel to begin the role. TSPV is requires as you will be collaboration with key stakeholders and access necessary systems for project deliverables.
