Experis Australia has been engaged by a Federal Agency to source a Virtualisation Engineer



About the Role

Experis Australia is seeking a highly skilled Virtualisation Engineer (NSX Specialist) to design, implement, and manage VMware NSX solutions while optimising VMware environments in a complex Federal Government ICT environment. The successful candidate will work closely with network and security teams to enhance network security and ensure the smooth operation of virtualised infrastructure.



Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement VMware NSX solutions in a secure government environment.
  • Optimise and manage VMware environments for improved performance and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve virtualisation and network-related issues.
  • Collaborate with Network and Security teams to strengthen network security measures.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation related to virtualisation architecture.
  • Implement and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
  • Stay up to date with advancements in VMware technologies, identifying potential opportunities for enhancement.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian Government security policies, including the ASD Information Security Manual and Essential Eight.


Essential Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with VMware solutions.
  • Proven expertise in VMware NSX implementation and management.
  • Strong understanding of network and security protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure, both independently and as part of a team.


Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification preferred.
  • Relevant industry experience, particularly within Federal Government ICT environments.
  • Experience with Australian Government information security policies, including the ASD Information Security Manual and Essential Eight.
